LAPC supports the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  We uphold a legal duty to protect the privacy of all personal data obtained from you while you are in therapy with one of us. We are open concerning our approach towards safeguarding your personal information.

Our website is purely for information.  It is managed directly by the Directors of LAPC only.  Some articles on our site may include embedded content (e.g. images, videos from Youtube, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.  Their content is subject to the privacy policy of the relevant third-party provider and not ours, which means they may use cookies or collect data about you through embedded third-party tracking for example.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. When you go to other websites from here, we advise you to be aware and read their privacy policy.

We use cookies for web analytics purposes, to process data about your usage of our website. The usage data may include your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your use.  The source of the usage data is our analytics tracking systems. This usage data may be processed for the purposes of analysing the use of the website and services. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests, namely monitoring and improving our website and services.  You may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. Any initial phone calls or emails to the practice are collected securely by one of the Directors of LAPC. When you make contact with us we may collect the following information: Name, address, telephone number and/or email, GP’s details (where applicable), D.O.B (where applicable).  Your first name and contact details are shared to carry out the administrative task of connecting you to the most appropriate therapist by secure technology. Your details are then deleted on receipt of this information being shared.

When commencing therapy in an initial meeting with your therapist they will discuss and give you a leaflet on how we keep your personal information safe and ask for your consent to store basic details for your records for the duration of your therapy.  This information leaflet sets out in detail the information we collect about you, how and where we store your personal information, what we use your information for and when we securely delete your data.  Each therapist working as part of LAPC subscribes to the ethical policy of their professional registration body.

We may make changes to the privacy policy at any time. Changes will be posted online and are effective immediately.
